We are happy to announce that we have been awarded Kentico Site of the Month Award for our work on the Building Societies Association (BSA) website. This award celebrates the best Kentico websites created in February 2017 so it’s a huge honour to have won this award.
The BSA website is one of the major channels through which they communicate with their members, which is made up of the government, parliament (EU and UK) and the media as well as the general public. The organisation also provides a number of online resources, including information and research to ensure their members are able to run their businesses to the best of their ability, whilst being fully informed of policy. Therefore, it was decided that their website needed to be migrated onto the most up-to-date version of Kentico to allow them to make use of the newest features and developments.
BSA approached us to migrate their site over to the newest version of Kentico and to update their out-of-date code. They also needed some new functionality to help improve their communication with members. To achieve this, we created two custom modules using Kentico.
The first of these enables the site to automatically add registered users with validated emails to company accounts. For example, if a user signed up with a validated @distinction.co.uk email address they would be automatically added to the Distinction account. This enables fast and effective member communication. Another addition we added was the notification tab. Site users can subscribe to policy pages so that they can be updated with new additions to policy. The notifications tab allows site editors to automate this process, vastly reducing manual processes.
By implementing these changes, we were able to achieve some great results for BSA including:
- 7.42% increase of new users
- 5.21% increase in session duration
- 16.4% decrease in avg. page load time
- 89.88% decrease in download time
- 60% increase in event registrations
These results represent a huge change for BSA, which we're happy to have helped them achieve.
