We were nominated for not one, but a total of three awards!

Last Thursday, 17th November, was the culmination of the 2016 Midlands Family Business Awards. It was a spectacular night full of glitter, champagne and, of course, many winners.

As you might already know from our previous blog post, we were nominated for three awards on the night. We're very pleased to announce that we won highly commended in the Best Small Family Business category and were amongst the finalists in the Fastest Growing Family Business category. A big congratulations to National Locums and Bambino Mio who were the winners in those categories and to John Pye for winning the overall 'Family Business Of The Year'.

The Midlands Family Business Awards is a charitable initiative organised by Nottinghamshire family business, the Wilson Organisation. Established in 2010, the Midlands Family Business Awards have always been independent, not-for-profit and completely free to enter for all Midlands-based family businesses and their advisers. Thanks to the 2016 sponsors, the Family Business Awards Night was an event to remember.

The awards ceremony and dinner were held at the Great Hall at the University of Birmingham, a breath-taking venue in late-Victorian style. The night started with a drinks reception in the foyer, before taking our seats for the formal part of the ceremony, and concluded with an after party, where all the winners had the chance to celebrate their success.

The annual awards are organised with the primary goal of celebrating the success of family businesses as well as creating a community of like-minded people. This year there were 11 categories represented by more than 50 businesses. Each of those 11 categories stood for excellence in everything from digital to manufacturing, and being among the nominees is something we are proud to be part of. The purpose of the awards is not only to celebrate the achievements of all those family businesses but also to raise awareness for charities. All funds raised from this year's event will go to two amazing charities: Headway and our good friends at the Alzheimer's Society.

We would like to congratulate the winners of each award and wish them the best of luck with their future endeavours. For us, taking part in the Midlands Family Business Awards was hugely important as we believe that family values always come first. We are built on these and each member of our team plays a crucial role in sustaining those values. A huge thanks and congratulations to everyone that took part!
