Creating a multi-currency, B2C and B2B online store for a global party accessory business


Talking Tables provides high quality and ‘quirky’ table decorations for all types of events from birthdays to dinner parties as part of a large multi-million pound e-commerce business.

Their customers include John Lewis, Selfridges, Paperchase, and Waitrose to name just a few.

Talking Tables sells worldwide to both consumers and trade account customers, with a very seasonal product inventory that's maintained in WinMan ERP.

We were commissioned to create a new website that integrated seamlessly with this platform, whilst providing an exceptional user experience.


Understanding the consumer

As with every online shop, understanding the customer buyer journey is critical, and this is especially true for sites that sell to both consumers (B2C) and trade (B2B). All buyers expect a slick and easy-to-use experience, so we worked hard to ensure this was the case for all customers.

Examples of Talking Tables' products

To help Talking Tables better communicate their company vision and help visitors become immersed in the company culture while browsing, we keep the content as informal as possible and brought touches from their physical office online. Strong visuals emphasised the ‘fun’ and quality nature of their products. We created an area within the site for customers to upload and share their own party snaps, showing Talking Tables' products in the environment in which they are used.

Integration with ERP

Customers can explore thousands of online products intuitively, using clear navigation, and cross / up-sell opportunities where appropriate. All customers can quickly access their account information and order history, and trade account customers can place repeat or similar orders with just a few clicks.

Optimised for mobile and tablet devices

With more than half of their traffic originating from mobile devices and tablets, we made sure that the site was fully mobile friendly. Kentico CMS was used due to the nature of the complex integration with WinMan ERP and their mixed mode account requirements for public and trade customers.

International ecommerce

As Talking Tables sell internationally, customers can easily display and purchase products in a currency.

Advanced reporting

With advanced e-commerce and reporting tools, Talking Tables is able to gain a comprehensive understanding of how the site is being used, giving them clear insights to continually improve the site on a daily basis.

We regard the site as one of the ‘prettiest’ we’ve ever done, with beautiful product images, lifestyle photography, and dynamic content.

The site perfectly integrates Kentico and WinMan ERP providing a seamless and bulletproof system for managing their online catalog and customer base.
